Work, Organization, and Leadership

The Work, Organization, and Leadership focus area draws from social sciences, labour studies, gender studies, cultural studies, and the humanities to examine contemporary developments in the world of work, organization, and leadership. The focus area incorporates a contemporary understanding of “work” as being both paid and unpaid, stable and precarious. It provides a unique opportunity for students – whether from the public, private or NGO sectors – to integrate their experience of work with their graduate studies. The focus area is ideally suited for students interested in a “participant-observer” methodology for their final project.
