Trevor Butler is a Professional / Chartered Engineer with over 30 years in practice of sustainability and architectural engineering, specializing in deep green integration of engineering with architecture.

Dr. Butler completed his PhD in zero-carbon, passive cooling, infection control systems at Cardiff Metropolitan University, and has been active in expanding his post-doc research in earth to air heat exchangers – most notably at UBC. He is Adjunct Professor at Dalhousie University (since 2001) and has contributed to building systems integration at UBC (sala) McGill, Universite de Montreal and in the UK.

Trevor is an Innovator, leading on several first-of-a-kind projects – works laterally and holistically bringing ideas together in a logical and ordered manner to creative, workable solutions, monitor and measure operational performance. He consults with industry leaders including McLennan Design, reLoad and AME on regenerative design projects.

Trevor has been a volunteer with not-for profit groups, including the Innovation Okanagan Network (ION), Okanagan Sustainability Leadership Council, Smart Sustainable Resilient Infrastructure Association, and Capstone projects at UBC and OC. He has assisted at his children’s school with introduction to renewable energy and loves anything to do with being in nature and close to water.
