Full Time Status on 40 Percent Course Load
Students with permanent disabilities who have registered with Accessibility Services may be qualified as full time on 40 percent course load if this is an academic accommodation they require as a result of the impact of a disability.
Students who have applied for provincial/federal student loan funding may be required to provide the funding agency with supporting documentation that verifies a permanent disability in order to be qualified as a full time student on 40 percent course load. For this reason, students should contact their provincial/federal student loan funding agency for more information.
For students receiving funding through other sources (sponsorship agreements, employer funding for courses, insurance funding etc) your funding/sponsorship agency may also apply additional conditions regarding the required course load to maintain full time status as well, so it is important that you discuss this matter with the agency providing your funding.

Students Receiving Provincial/Federal Student Financial Aid Funding
Students who apply for and receive provincial/federal student loan funding to attend courses receive a shortened contract term for courses. Three-credit courses are shortened to four months (instead of six) and six-credit courses are shortened to eight months (instead of twelve). Full-time on 40 percent course load status requires that students be registered in a minimum of six credits over four months for one semester or twelve credits over eight months for two semesters. All courses in each semester must have the same start date.
To maintain full time status on 40 percent course load as a student receiving provincial/federal student financial aid funding you must successfully complete at least 1.5 credits per month or 6 credits in any four month registration period (for example 2 courses x 3 credits per course = 6 credits term. 6 credit term/4 month contract term = 1.5 credits per month).
Your financial aid advisor is required to report to your provincial/federal student loan funding agency if you are not meeting the minimum completion requirements
Students Not Receiving Provincial/Federal Student Financial Aid Funding
In order for students with permanent disabilities who are not receiving provincial/federal student financial aid funding to be granted full time status on reduced 40 percent course load, the minimum course load required is 1.5 credits per month.
Students must be actively registered in 3, three credits courses, all commencing on the same start date (for example 3 courses x 3 credits per course = 9 credits term. 9 credits term/6 month contract term = 1.5 credits per month) in order to be qualified as full time on reduced 40 percent course load.
