eText

eTexts are interactive online textbooks. eTextbooks are helpful and up-to-date resources for students, professors, and tutors. Since they are digital, it is easy to access them from anywhere, and you can search for specific information very quickly. eTexts are another tool that enhances your learning experience.

Access to your eText is provided through VitalSource Technologies. Once you have created a VitalSource Bookshelf account, they give several options for you to read your eText both online (Bookshelf® Online) and offline (Bookshelf® Downloadable or one of the Bookshelf® Mobile apps).

We strongly recommend that you download your eText.

Bookshelf®

Accessing eTexts can be done through either a Bookshelf ® app or a web browser.

Bookshelf® downloadable apps are available on the following platforms:

• Windows
• macOS
• iOS
• Android
• Kindle

Alternatively, Bookshelf Online can be used on the following web browsers:

• Firefox
• Safari
• Chrome
• Edge
• Opera

VitalSource will generally support two versions of a web browser. The current version and the most recent previous version. Browser support will be reviewed and updated every 6 months.

Depending on the file provided by the publishers, some browsers may work better than others. If you encounter difficulties accessing or using your eText, use the following contacts for assistance:

Smartphones and tablets

VitalSource provides limited support for all tablet and smartphone browsers. However, they do not recommend that you use Bookshelf® Online on your mobile device. Instead, users should install the appropriate Bookshelf® mobile app (iOS, Android, or Kindle Fire).
