Carepath Digital Health

Support available for our current students

Carepath by Bayshore logoCarepath offers a comprehensive support program to promote prevention and early intervention for mental health issues. If you are struggling and need support, you can call Carepath’s support line during the day or access online resources 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Many service options are available for you to access timely and confidential support, including counselling and tools and resources that you can access from your mobile device or computer. Counselling services are provided by registered mental health professionals with master’s level training or higher and are available in over 300 languages. These services and resources are available for all active AU students if needed as part of your wellness support program.

To register and receive support from a professional, have your AU student ID number and the name of the course(s)/program(s) that you are currently registered in and contact Carepath by any of the following:

  1. Connect with Carepath
  2. Request an online account to access resources 24/7

    On our website or mobile app, select:

    • Create Account
    • Create Request
    • I Am A Student
    • School Name: Athabasca University
    • Mental Health Program

    Fill in the required information, such as name and Student ID, and submit the request.

  3. Wait to receive an approval email and finish setting up your account
    • Fill in the remaining required information, sign the consent form, and save.
  4. Complete the initial screening questionnaire
    • That’s it! A Carepath counsellor will reach out to you within 24 - 48 hours. Please watch for an initial email or phone call.

If you want to access a library of online information, assessment tools, and videos to support your mental health and wellness, self-register for Carepath Digital Health by visiting the website carepathdigitalhealth.ca or downloading the Carepath Digital Health app on the App Store or Google Play. (See registration details under #2 above)

  • body image and eating disorders
  • depression
  • healthy relationships
  • interpersonal trauma and violence
  • learning and attention difficulties
  • loneliness
  • low self-esteem
  • managing distressing emotions
  • sleep problems
  • stress
  • substance abuse and addictions
  • suicide prevention
  • trauma

How to access online services

Contact Carepath to register and access services by any of the following channels:

  1. Speak with a Carepath Intake Specialist over the phone at 1-855-491-5744 (English, French) during business hours (7 a.m. – 11 p.m. (Eastern), 7 days/week, 365 days/year)
  2. Self-register via a two-stage process by visiting the Carepath Digital Health website or downloading the Carepath Digital Health app.
    • First, submit a request to join the program by selecting “Create Account” → “Create Request” → “I am a Student” → “Mental Health” program and filling in the required information.
    • Second, when approved, you will receive an email to finish filling in the required information and submit.

Students with an open case with Homewood Health Wellness can continue to access the service while their case is open.
