Inclusive post-secondary education initiative

Inclusive post-secondary education

Athabasca University’s inclusive post-secondary education initiative supports students with intellectual disabilities across Alberta to be fully included in all aspects of post-secondary education, including studying, finding relevant career opportunities, and taking advantage of the online community that AU offers.

In partnership with the non-profit organization Inclusion Alberta, AU’s inclusive post-secondary initiative supports students in Alberta in accessing quality distance education from their home communities. Students supported by this initiative pursue their studies through an enhanced audit status for up to 4 years. They also receive support in finding meaningful community connections, social opportunities, and employment right in their home community.
